Boardroom Table for Theiss
Creating corporate furniture for Theiss has been a wonderful opportunity for Bywater Design to flex their corporate muscle and create visually appealing ,highly functional office furniture that will meet all the demands of a busy corporate environment. Using Teak veneer, Eucalypt Burl and solid Cambia edging to create a dramatic contrast. These 7.5metre long board room tables were painstakingly crafted in our Northgate workshop and polished to a high gloss to enhance the richness and durability of the timber. Using the very best of audio and electrical accessories, these tables provide all the necessary functions of a corporate meeting.
In addition to the boardroom tables, side boards and entertaining units were designed and installed to provide a smooth and functional preparation area for the high volume of staff meeting in the building .
Of course with such excessive dimensions, these boardroom tables would not be able to be delivered by normal measures. A crane lift, in the dawn hours was needed to install these wonderful pieces of furniture.
After lengthy planning and deliberation and a few strong coffees, the process of craning , and installation was a successful one.

Qld Maple Bathroom Vanity Unit...
Making the focal point of this stunning bathroom makeover, we designed built and installed this Qld Maple Bathroom Vanity. Staining the Maple to a deep rich Mahogany colour, it provided a dramatic contrast to the wonderful monochromatic décor.
With 3 large cupboards and 3 drawers, this custom built vanity not only provides visual appeal but also essential storage for the bathroom.

The kitchen, arguably the most hardworking, central point of the home deserves to be treated to some special attention now and again.
An update, extra storage, new modifications inject new life into a kitchen, evolving with the family needs
Using recycled hoop pine ( from a dismantled 1800's home in inner city Brisbane) this kitchen was restored, to include an impressive butlers pantry, extra bench space and more storage and a new design in keeping with this traditional Queenslanders charm and character.
Caring for your Furniture in Winter...
With winter here, the temperature drops and so does the humidity. With these changes, timber furniture can dry out and possibly split in various places…
You can avoid this by using a suitable furniture wax to promote and keep moisture in the grain. Simply wax on with a clean dry cloth and then wax off any excess, doing this a few times during winter will noticeably enhance your furniture and keep it in pristine condition.
Recently restored Art Deco Furniture will maintain its beautifully restored condition by regular use of a good Furniture Wax.
This will prolong the life of the finish , as well as provide a barrier to everyday wear and tear...

Remaining faithful to the 1960/s a client requested we design and make a Lounge Suite that lends itself to the clean simple lines of this era .
Using Tasmanian Oak, the 3 Seater and 2 Chairs, came together beautifully using modern fabric to enhance the wonderful design. The lounge suite is a timeless classic.

It is always so inspiring to see our students develop their skills and woodworking knowledge over the years. Their dedication and enthusiasm is one of the reasons why we love conducting our woodworking classes. Bruce, one of our Thursday night students, has been with us for well over 4 years. During this time Bruce has produced a wide variety of work including an entertainment unit, CD Cabinet, Drinks Cabinet, Netball Stand for The Diamonds Restored Dining Chairs and is currently completing work on his stunning Silky Oak Dining Table.
Bruce's dedication, commitment and always willingness to learn new skills is an inspiration !
