Things we love

What we loved in November

As we are well and truly into the last month of the DECADE !! It is always worthwhile to relfect back on the past month and gather the gratitude for the last 30 days

When it rains, it pours .

When it rains, it pours .

The sound of rain was long overdue and the ping pong of hail on the roof signalled once again that summer storms are back, and lets hope with a lot more rain to come.

“Every summer has its story “ and we cant wait to see what unfolds this season

What we are loving in September

As the weather still can’t decide what it wants to do, windy days, warm day, average weather days and still NO rain, we can only but embrace the moments and the sunshine , as it is truly the little things that have the biggest impact …

Slow mornings , when the sun is shining and the coffee is strong and maybe a treat or two

Tools of the Woodworking Trade

Essential to our craft, hand tools are many and varied in our Woodworking Workshop.

They are treasured items, sometimes given as gifts to the craftsperson, sometimes they are found by chance in an out of the way Antique/junk shop, and sometimes they are handed down by a family member or friend.

Whatever the reason they become an integral part our furniture making and restoration processes.

There are times when a machine won’t do the fine, intricate things needed in say carving a dining chair back legs or repairing a veneer to an antique commode.

The tools of our trade can sometimes look dusty, worn but that just adds to its character and seasoning and like a fine wine only improves with age.

A little about our Beautiful Surfboards ...

We design our surfboards with a vision of what us as surfers would like in a board. Its not just the visual , although we do think that our surfboards are ridiculously good looking, its about the performance and how they ride in the water.

The Gould

The Gould

The Gould is a cleaned up older board with a defnite 70’s vibe.

It single fin with a fuller nose outline and a tight pin tail. A low entry rocker with a flat bottom and and chimed rails.

The end result is a beautiful surfboard for all types of surfers in all types of waves .

The Dawn Surfboard

The Dawn Surfboard

The Dawn is the total package.

A classic all rounder with a concave throughh the nose , flat through the centre and rolled V in the tail.

Its a sweet reliable daily ride, the perfect workhorse

Will handle all conditions from the dribble wave to the ultimate 6 foot clean wave (and dont we wish for more of those .

With the addition of wonderful timbers such as paulownia, cambia ash and cedar and no foam we are proud of the way our boards ride in the water .

Of course, we could go on for pages of all the finer details of our boards, but if you would like more info about our range we would love to hear from you , so send us an email and we will answer any questions you have !

Custom making Media Units ...

A wonderful finished product on this custome made TV Cabinet …

Our client required a modest cabinet to accommodate a DVD Player and accessories , and it also had to fit within the room parameters , so as not to overpower the other gorgeous furniture in the room .

Stuart designed this sleek cabinet with ample storage for all components as well as the inclusion of grey speaker mesh to emphasise the quality of sound as well as harmonise with the 2 Pack finish.

We chose Dulux Snow Season a sophisticated white neutral to highlight the gorgeous timber flooring.

The chrystal handles ( a client love) was the final embelishment on this elegant minimal yet functional cabinet.

The elegance of Mahogany

With its reddish brown hue that enriches over time, Mahogany Timber is the ideal choice for dining room furniture.

Its warm tones heighten the design aesthetic and impart a warmth and and ambience that only timber can supply.

The side table we recently custom made is a wonderful example of this.
